Our Home and Native Land

unique stock production elements and resources for motion graphics, film, video, vfx and design professionals

There is an awful lot of stock footage out there.

Despite that, ours has done pretty well for the past fourteen years and can be seen in countless films, television programs, ads, games and music videos. We attribute our success to using two simple questions to guide our development efforts: what do producers really need and what do producers really want?

We put much thought into designing high-production-value clips which are unique, realistic and flexible. And our clips are generously long, with ample frames for creative retiming.

Adobe Stock, Fotolia, Pond 5 and Shutterstock carry our cinematic HD-4K RF concept footage collections and legacy footage (now being reworked for 4K).

VideoBlocks subscribers enjoy discounted access to our footage through their members-only Marketplace.

We are constantly adding new clips to each collection and are happy to customize any of them to suit your specific production needs.

Winds of Change

Climate change is a hot topic. And nothing beats animation to concisely and powerfully convey otherwise abstract concepts.

We've used the best NASA imagery available, provided a few seconds of lead/tail padding where useful, and paid close attention to timing to give you flexible materials that will help you tell your story with more drama on-screen - and less in the edit suite.

AREA 6 Arctic Circles - 4K Climate Change Stock Footage Collection

Arctic Circles Producer's Kit

The icecaps are thawing, and we're here to help you explain why that matters with a modular set of looping, matched circular tracking shots which focus on the North and South poles from four angles/orbits, as seen in June and December.

Extra-slow, extra-long, 2-minute full-circle loops provide ample room for retiming or narration. Matching plates provide many creative options. 2K, 4K gradually coming online.

Arctic Circles Producer's Kit component list

Data: USGS/NASA Landsat

Arctic Circles is built around four, two-minute, seamlessly-looping circular tracking shots of each pole.

Each shot is taken from a different camera angle: high, medium,-high, medium-low and low.

Arctic circle shots include two versions: June and December. Other then the appearance of sea ice, there is virtually no visible change on the continental landmass within the Antarctic Circle between summer and winter.

Each two-minute, full-circle/seamless loop is split into two one-minute cl ips, by hemisphere, as listed below:

North Pole tracking shots

1a. High-angle, June, West hemisphere
1b. High-angle, June, East hemisphere

2a. Medium-high-angle, June, West hemisphere
2b. Medium-high-angle, June, East hemisphere

3a. Medium-low-angle, June, West hemisphere

Cloud Plates (available only at Pond5)

These full-circle cloud plates come in two versions, each version prepared for each of the four camera angles. As the camera angles are the same for each pole, both cloud plate versions work with both poles.

Planetary Survey Set 2: Flybys & Arrivals

Keep calm. Buckle up. Hold on.

This set includes stylized and non-stylized flybys, approaches and orbital footage for all the planets (and dwarf planets) we know and love, as well as many of their moons. We built them in 4K where possible - and 2K where high-rez data was limited. Clips range in length from 16 to 40 seconds, are reversible and can be rotated 180°. Some include multiple versions.

Planet and moon flybys (:20)

These retimed, "Matrix-style" flybys are dramatic and reversible. The camera hurtles toward the planet for five seconds, suddenly cuts to slow motion for a ten-second, close-range pass along the equator, and then returns to full speed as it races on into space. DCI 4K unless otherwise indicated.

AREA 6 Planetary Survey - 4K Space Exploration Stock Footage Collection

Planetary Survey Set 1: Exploring Mars

The race for Mars is on! And to tell the story, you need believable and cinematic shots - lots of them.

We have the fastest growing, integrated collection of 4K Mars footage on the market - from orbital mapping flyovers of the entire planet to surface exploration and human activity. Our clips are generously long, flexible and realistic, right down to the scientifically accurate instrumentation readouts on HUDs.

Blue Hotel: Orbital Flyovers Set 1

We've been looking for a combination of techniques, software and resources that would give us some unique and sublime looking Earth orbit footage. We think we found it.

These 40-second shots simulate ISS altitude and perspective - but we used custom orbital paths to highlight meaningful sections of the home world. Shots can be reversed and/or rotated 180°. 2K available now, 4K gradually coming online

Blue Hotel clip list

Data: USGS/NASA Landsat

These long, lazy orbital flyovers pass over the locations listed below, covering 10 degrees of Earth's circumference. Clips are available in two versions: a completely cloudless and unobscured view of the planet's surface in all directions, and the same shot with some cloud cover that lies only on the edges of the shot's focal point.

This collection will continue to grow and we are happy to provide a custom render of whatever geographic region meets your needs.

Aerial Recon VFX Footage Set 1

UAVs and drones continue to make their way into storylines, so we have created an integrated collection of high-production-value clips prepared for UHD playback.

All of them loop seamlessly, making them ideal for dressing sets for long duration shots. They look good when grouped because they share a similar look and feel.
